Happiness

Goodmorning to all my sweet friends.I have been thinking a lot about happiness.A couple of weeks ago, my grandaughter came in with a long face.I ask her what the problem was. She replied, Nanna I am not very happy today! I ask her why,She did not know. She was just not happy! I sat there for a while, and I told her,Abbi, my mama use to say when I was a girl little,I would have that same long face.she would tell me, now you have a choice! I replied.I do? mama said yes.You can choose to be happy,or you can choose to have a bad day! I do not think I will ever forget that day. Mama would tell me God does not want you to be sad. She told me everymorning when I got up,I could make the choice to have a happy day or a sad day! I was only about maybe 6 years old. That has always stuck in my mind.I remember telling my girls the same thing. Now I am telling my grandchildren the same story that Mama told me.As I got older,I knew my happiness came from the Lord. True happiness comes from the Lord.I do not know how I could make it without him.Thats the only peace I have in life.I wish you all the same happiness. Please continue to keep me in your prayers.I go back to the doctor in the morning.Oh I dread it, but right now I am just ready to get it all over, and find out where Iwill go from here.I hope you all have a very blessed day!I will keep you updated, as I find out! So with that said, I say be happy, And smile because God loves you! May God Bless You All!

  3. What a sweet post! I often times also tell my kids that they choose their attitude toward their day. Attitudes are not just put in you, they are chosen by you. I learned that when I was young as well and it has helped me live above so many things in my life.

I will be praying for you today!

  4. Great post. So true. There are days though that I just feel sad and I am not sure why. No reason...but your are right. The JOY of the Lord is my strength and I need to find the Joy from Him to turn that frown upside down. You gave her the best advice.
    Have a wonderful day.

  9. Faye,
I can't begin to tell you what a blessing and an encouragement you have been to me lately! You are so quick to praise! And now when many would be dragging their lip on the ground because of the physical problems you are facing you are instead still praising the Lord and trying to be a blessing to others! Wow! What a blessing you are!

I do pray that God will do an unexpectedly wonderful thing in your life! Isaiah 65: 24 "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking I will hear."

    Praying for good things!

  10. Faye, you make such a good point, and with all that's going on in my life (behind the scenes), I really needed to hear that today!

Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. They make me smile and help brighten my days!

  11. Wonderful encouragement, thank you. The Bible says we are to rejoice in the Lord, not in our circumstances. It is a choice to be made, every day....sometimes every hour.

I love II Cor. 10:5 which reminds us to take our thoughts captive. We don't have to dwell on or act on every negative thought that pops in our heads. We can have peace by just resting in the Lord.

I will pray for you today. I have looked on your blog and don't see what you are facing, but God knows and I don't need to know. I'll just pray for you, sweetie!

  12. Life is full of choices, isn't it. Some as simple as choosing our attitude. Pearls of wisdom passed down through the generations. I can only imagine your granddaughter one day sharing these precious thoughts with her little one.

Faye, I will be praying for you in the morning. May you feel the strong arms of Jesus holding you.

    Shalom,
    Denise

  21. There is something special here on your site. Perhaps it is true faith that I feel when I come here. I don't know.
I told someone else this recently who was going through a very hard time in facing a tradgedy in life.
Something happened to me once that let me know that what I have faith in is real. Just as real as anything you can reach out and touch. Just as physically real! Your faith is what gives GOD his power. Our faith is the source! Like a fountain of running water and it flows and flows and all good comes from it.
You are strong and will make it through this.
We are all brothers and sisters...and this is evident with every warm and caring comment you get.
Here you are, in need and giving SO much!
What a lucky little girl your granddaughter is to have you for her grandma.
    ~smiles and love~
